Somatic and Attachment Therapies

Connect deeply to yourself and others

  • The Tamura Method is a gentle yet powerful tool for directly accessing and rewiring trauma and attachment wounds. Through emotional attunement and relational safety, deep emotional states that have been held in the body (i.e. the Inner Wounded Child) can be felt, safely expressed, caringly witnessed, and gently released. “Touch invites the client out of mental stories and into embodied presence. It awakens body memories and gives access to unconscious patterns that shape our emotional lives. Loving and attuned touch offers a direct healing experience that can directly rewire attachment dynamics and developmental wounds.” (from Tamura Method website) Learn more here and read Aaron’s informed consent here

  • S.A.F.E. EMDR includes a focus on the body’s innate capacity to heal, an understanding of a client’s survival and relational strategies that worked for them in the past but may be inhibiting them now, and ultimately leads to more holistic healing process. You can learn more here.

  • By pairing low-dose ketamine with body-centered trauma-focused relational psychotherapy, client’s can deeply connect to themselves in a new way beyond habitual thinking and protective patterns. Aaron has in-depth experiential training in Polyvagal Theory, tracking and releasing traumatic stress states, and supporting the natural healing process that the body is capable of when given the right opportunity. Learn more about Aaron’s training here. And note: this form of therapy can be successful without the use of ketamine!

  • IFS is an integrative approach which focuses on healing the relationships between parts and the core Self. IFS posits that each of us is made up of parts (like voices in a choir) and each of us experiences a core Self (like the conductor of the choir). A core tenet of IFS is that every part has a positive intent, even if its actions are counterproductive and/or cause dysfunction. There is no need to fight with, coerce, or eliminate parts; the IFS method promotes internal connection and harmony to bring the mind and body back into balance. Please note: Although I participate in ongoing informal training and research in this technique, I am not officially trained or certified in this technique.
